Retired bodybuilder Rich Gaspari maintains a strong presence in the community as an analyst since stepping away from competition years ago. In a recent post made on Instagram, Gaspari discussed the benefits of using TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) and shared some of his guidelines to minimize the risk of side effects.
Rich Gaspari made a name for himself as a Men’s Open competitor with excellent conditioning levels in the mid-1980s to 90s. Although he did not find Olympia glory, he established his place in the mix of title contention with three runner-up finishes. He battled it out on stage with some of the most iconic names in the sport, including eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Lee Haney, six-time champ Dorian Yates, Lee Labrada, and Robby Robinson.
After moving on from competition, Gaspari became a renowned analyst with his undying passion for the sport and infamous hot takes. During the build-up to the 2022 Mr. Olympia, Gaspari voiced his disapproval of the modern mass monsters in the Open class. He heaped praises on Canadian bodybuilder Chris Bumstead, reigning four-time Classic Physique Olympia champ, for building his way up in popularity and backed his physique over the Open contenders.
Following the latest Olympia, Gaspari bashed the freshly minted champion Hadi Choopan for his back conditioning. He compared Choopan’s back to that of Yates to make his point and received a fiery response back from Choopan for the comparison. Gaspari did not back down from his take as he delivered another message reiterating his ‘constructive criticism.’ Further, Gaspari urged Choopan to work on his conditioning and exhibit the dry and ripped look seen on stage decades before.

Gaspari commented on the dethroning of former two-time winner Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay by pinning the blame on his prep coach for allegedly misleading him in the final days of prep. The 59-year-old expressed his dislike of contemporary athletes for potentially relying on steroids more than their training quality.
Rich Gaspari shares important tips for using TRT
In a recent Instagram post, Rich Gaspari talked about the benefits of using TRT and shared some of his important guidelines to avoid side effects.
“I want to talk about something that was regarded as highly taboo years ago but is now being accepted by the general public more and more to try to stay young,” said Gaspari. “That is TRT (testosterone replacement therapy). I’ve been on TRT for close to ten years and I feel amazing. I stay muscular as people can see. I continue training in the gym. I stay lean. I have no side effects from it because I’m being monitored by a doctor. I get extensive blood work done to make sure that my health indicators are all at normal range; that’s your liver, kidneys, cholesterol, hemoglobin, red blood cell count, and much more that a doctor will do the right test.
Another thing is when you do your testosterone, you’re not only testing for total testosterone but you’re testing for biological free testosterone, and that’s very important to know. You should have a doctor doing this.”
“I know they work. It’s been helping me so much between using my TRT and peptides that I’m on.”
Rich Gaspari opened up about his use of peptides for their anti-aging benefits last week. He also went over the list of recent Mr. Olympia winners and criticized the competitors for not placing enough focus on conditioning. He stressed the importance of following a proper diet regimen to succeed in bodybuilding.
Previously, Gaspari shared some tips on workout intensity to motivate his fans to push their limits in the gym.
Well don’t start casting stones Rich, considering that you came up in the 80s & 90s when bodybuilders were still trying to have society believe they weren’t on the sauce, which was humorous as hell. Now everyone that’s on Gear, tells you their on it, as if we didn’t know already..
Indeed. What a joke. Shouldn’t need gear to look like that
