Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is known for his incredibly ripped physique and hardcore workouts. During The Joe Rogan Experience Podcast, The Rock and Joe Rogan talk about their ‘Fu**ing Banging’ workout and training routines.
The Rock is an icon in Hollywood and the fitness community for his shredded build. Having started in the WWE in 1996, The Rock quickly established himself as one of the world’s greatest wrestlers and went on to win 10 championships before moving into acting.
His experience with wrestling and driven nature are what keep him constantly pushing himself in the gym. The Rock often shares his workouts on social media even late at night, which is a practice he’s become particularly famous for. Whether it is a ‘kickass’ chest day or an ‘intense’ chest and back workout, The Rock ensures a rigorous hard-working schedule.

“How fun was that?” asks Rogan. “We had a good day.”
“That was a blast. Dude that was three hours,” replied Dwayne Johnson.
“You and me, we had a fucking banging workout. Then we did the sauna, we did the cold plunge, we did the whole experience.”
“We did the sauna again. The cold plunge man… that was great. And I love what you’re doing down here by the way with the boys. Getting them down here, giving them the opportunity to get after it, not only their craft, but to get in shape,” said The Rock.
While talking about their training, The Rock discusses how he misses working out with others like he did back when he was wrestling.
“I like working out with those guys, you feel it. You feel their desire. None of them quit. None of them pussed out. They were there,” added Johnson.
“That’s right, they [beginners] don’t know how to take that first step and they just need a little bit of help. It‘s different for you and luckily for me too, we grew up in that environment where it pushes us and it’s what we do. And it’s part of our DNA. But you can tell, all those guys, it’s really cool, they look to you,” said Johnson.
“I told some of the boys this, I miss that kind of stuff because it’s been a while since I worked out with the boys back when I was wrestling we would all work together because we were all traveling together every night and going to the same gym every day.”
Even though he enjoys working out with the boys, Johnson reveals the significance of working out alone.
“The training alone though… that is important for the mental you know. For me, it anchors my day. Also too life is so busy and crazy from the moment you wake up and walk outside, everybody wants something from you, so for many of us by the way, celebrity or not, so it’s nice to have that anchor in the morning,” said Johnson.
The Rock reflects on his training with Rogan and the boys:
“It was amazing, I had never done that before. It was great. Something also that I loved that I noticed about the guys, was after the workout was done, they were spent, they were feeling good, and great about themselves and I think pretty much all of them said hey we’re doing this tomorrow right? When that shit really kicks your ass, you don’t ask that question.”
Lastly, Johnson underlines the significance of staying consistent in his workouts to achieve lasting success.
“Whatever time it is [when I travel],I hit the gym,” explains Johnson.
“Also too, I feel like especially for guys like that who are just getting into it, dipping their toes into it feeling good, they know they are going to have to do it if they’re going to add years to their lives and take care of their families, it’s cool you realize as these guys are doing it, again, they’re not giving up but also you can see it kind of computing in their head, okay, two steps forward, maybe one little step back, you add the math, and you do that everyday, you’re far down that road.”
“I try to be smart about the moves these days and I also learned, man there’s just power in saying no.”
Even though it is obvious that The Rock works hard in the gym, there is a lot of speculation that he uses performance-enhancing drugs. Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler spoke out on the stigma of steroids and discussed why he doesn’t feel the need to speculate about the ‘natty or not status’ of The Rock.
Although The Rock has not explicitly stated whether or not he uses PEDs, his commitment to maintaining his physique is fueled by his on-screen appearances. Despite those speculations, it’s evident The Rock got an amazing pump in with the most powerful podcaster in the world.
