The war of words is heating up between Nick Walker and Derek Lunsford. On August 12, 2025, 10 weeks from the Mr. Olympia, Walker mocked Lunsford and called him scared shitless heading into their rematch.

Since their run-in at the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro, the two have been going back and forth via social media. It began after Lunsford shared that Walker should have thanked him for the defeat in Pittsburgh following their tie-breaker, sudden-death round. Days after the jab, Walker brushed off Lunsford’s comments

Walker eventually qualified for the Olympia, thanks to his dominant performance at the New York Pro. Bodybuilding veterans have also taken notice of their rivalry, with Dennis James and Jose Raymond emphasizing that the two ‘legitimately don’t like each other.’

Nick Walker Says Derek Lunsford ‘Scared Shitless’ Ahead of 2025 Olympia: ‘You Ain’t Fuc**ng Fooling Anyone Brother’

In the YouTube video, mid-workout, Walker fired back at Lunsford, mocking him over his comments after the Pittsburgh Pro.

“By the way bro, I was thinking before I got here, you should thank me for giving you the opportunity to film with me. I’m going to start saying it to everybody now. You should thank me for giving you this opportunity to experience.”

Walker stressed that Lunsford was ‘scared shitless,’ claiming he ‘knows what’s about to happen’ onstage at the Mr. Olympia.

“That is the most weirdo type of shit I’ve ever heard in my life. I already said this on my podcast but like, the dude didn’t even sound convincing. He sounded like he was scared shitless that he knows what’s about to happen and he just had to come up with something. He just had to say something.”

“It’s not convincing. You ain’t fucking fooling anyone brother,” shared Walker.

Walker understands he’ll have to get through more than just Lunsford to touch the Sandow trophy for the first time. Reigning Mr. Olympia champion Samson Dauda boasts more size than anyone onstage, and with enough condition, could retain his title. Hadi Choopan also took the year off to focus on improvements.

Lee Haney has backed Choopan as his favorite to win the Mr. Olympia, whereas bodybuilding veteran Rich Gaspari has Dauda emerging victorious once again. With four Olympia champions all gunning for one title, the show will go down as one of the most stacked.

Fans will soon witness Walker and Lunsford battle it out. The 2025 Mr. Olympia is set for October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
