Maureen Blanquisco upset Jennifer Dorie for the Bikini title at 2022 Mr. Olympia following the finals, which wrapped up on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Zappos Theater. With well over 40 qualified Bikini athletes eligible to compete on the Olympia stage, it turned into one of the most competitive contests of the weekend.
The Olympia title has changed hands a lot in the Bikini division as of late. In 2019, Elisa Pecini claimed gold. However, she was unable to defend the crown successfully in 2020. As a result, Pecini was defeated by Janet Layug. Last year, however, Janet announced that she wouldn’t be defending her title at the 2021 Bikini Olympia.
Last December, the title was up for grabs and many of the division’s top names were gunning for it. Lauralie Chapados, former three-time Bikini Olympia champ Ashley Kaltwasser (2013,2014,2015), and Jennifer Dorie were among the biggest threats. In the end, Dorie got the job done at 2021 Olympia.
While most signs pointed to Jennifer Dorie retaining her title again, she was pushed and challenged by Maureen Blanquisco, who dethroned her to become the 2022 champion. With Dorie in second, former three-time champ Ashley Kaltwasser earned bronze. Meanwhile, Daraja Hill finished fourth with a great package, and Lauralie Chapados rounded out the top five at this year’s Olympia.
