The Ultimate Guide To Becoming A Chick Magnet in the Gym

Learn everything there is to know about picking up girls at the gym.

Becoming A Chick Magnet

Chick Magnet

It is time finding dates in gyms is normalized. A study conducted on 15 heterosexual couples happily married for 35 years found that having similar interests was a big factor in their long-lasting relationships.

If you ask us, working out is a great common interest. Not only does it improve your odds of staying together (according to the aforementioned study), but the additional time you spend in the gym together could improve your intimacy.

With this said, we do not endorse predatory flirting in the gym. And sadly, it is the more prevalent type of advances we see in the weight room – thank you, gym bros!

You might bench 405lb like it is nobody’s business, but that does not give you the free pass to follow that cute girl on the treadmill home. That is outright creepy.

We will keep this article limited to do’s and don’t when it comes to picking up girls in the gym.

Why is that, you ask?

It might have something to do with meatheads and their inability to tie their shoelaces.

No, we are just kidding.

How To Turn Into A Chick Magnet

DOs

Compliment Her

You should never tell a girl you just met in the gym how great fitting her leggings are. That would be a horrible way of kicking things off and probably the last time you get to interact with her – unless you are Dan Bilzerian.

Have you ever heard of “When in Rome”?

Ask her about her training routine. And if she looks like she knows what she is doing, question her about her workout program and if she designed it herself. We bet she will not ignore the genuine compliment.

Remember: Avoid talking about her body or her outfit and praise her training ethic instead.

P.S. – If there comes a time when you cannot resist leading with “Wow, great legs,” do not forget to punch yourself in the face after saying it.

Make Her Feel Like A Maestro

Squat all you want, but that will not make you look or feel confident, or turn you into a chick magnet. Real confidence comes from acknowledging the fact that you still have many things to learn. The day you stop pretending that you are the real deal is the day you start attracting attention and respect in the iron paradise.

If the girl you have been eyeing for a long time is into yoga, go over and ask her if she would be willing to teach you the basics. Do not stress too much about embarrassing yourself. Messing up while performing downward dog might just be the ice breaker you need.

She will appreciate you putting yourself in a vulnerable position, and now she will be the one trying to make you feel comfortable.

Put In The Work

If you are not a player, you better lay down the groundwork before you make your move. Now, by ‘laying down the groundwork,’ we do not mean you should hire a Mexican band or put up a billboard to express your love for the girl – wait, actually, these are great ideas too.

But before you put your hard-earned dollars on the line, how about exchanging a few flirty glances first?

Also, a pre-workout might get your love juices flowing, but you should probably hold off asking the girl out on her first day to the gym.

KISS

Let’s be real for a minute. Approaching girls can be intimidating for most of us, and we might end up saying or doing things we later regret. You might want to impress your gym crush with the witty pickup line you discovered on Reddit, but make sure you are not stepping over the line.

Want to know the best way of getting a girl interested in you at the gym?

KISS!

Before you lean in, KISS stands for – keep it simple, silly.

We hope you did not just skim through the headings and are still out of jail.

You can never go wrong with the good old introduction which goes something like – “Hi, I have seen you training here before. I’m John.”

Tip: Make sure you make your move while you are still sweating. That way, she will not know how nervous you are.

DON’Ts

Bradley Martyn With Heba Ali

Interrupt Her Workout

Most guys forget that girls are at the gym to work out. In a bro’s head, women at his gym are waiting to be approached by him.

Little does he know that approaching a girl while she is into her set is one of the fastest ways of getting rejected. If she has to take off her earphones while she is on the treadmill because you want to talk to her, you have probably already pissed her off.

To improve your chances of getting a date, look out for low-rejection situations. Place your stretching mat next to her (in a non-creepy way) or chat up while she is resting between her sets.

Touch Her

The next time you touch a lady in the gym without her permission, we want you to imagine a signboard appearing over her head with the words “GAME OVER” written over it.

Forget girls, try to touch a jacked bro without his permission, and he will show you your place. Your hands are best kept to yourself in the gym. The weight room is not the right place to get touchy-feely, especially if you live in a hot and humid place. Nobody wants to make sweat babies with you.

Act Like A Gorilla

Lifting heavy is fine, but if you think grunting like a gorilla makes you look cool, you have got it all wrong. If you have to grunt while squatting, you better have at least four plates on each side. Or else know that you are just making a fool out of yourself.

In every gym, there is a lifter whose grunting is directly proportional to his proximity to his lady love. Behave like a normal Homosapien and leave the grunting to Roy Kent (from Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso).

Be A Form Police

The girl of your dreams already knows that you cannot keep your eyes off of her.

How is that, you wonder?

Ever notice the mirrors in your gym? They are everywhere. Everyone sees everything.

You do not have to make matters worse by going over and correcting her form. It is a dead giveaway that you had been checking her out.

Unless you are her personal trainer, you would be better off keeping your unsolicited advice to yourself. If you think she would be impressed with your knowledge and come to you in the future for advice, you are mistaken. What you should do instead is read the “Do’s” mentioned above again.

The Chick Magnet Workout

It should not come as a surprise to you that swole dudes have a better chance at picking up girls at a gym. Not only will the workout mentioned below give you a chiseled physique, but it also consists of moves that women love to see men perform in the gym (based on a survey of 20 women).

We know you are too keen on impressing women, but that should not be an excuse to skip your warm-up. Before you begin your workout, pick the cardio machine of your choice and spend 5-10 minutes on it to fire up your muscles for the chick magnet training routine.

Incline Dumbbell Press

Follow the cardio session with full-body dynamic training stretches and mobility drills.

Chick Magnet Workout #1

1. Squat – 4 Sets 10 Reps – 30-sec Rest

2. Neutral-Grip Pull-up – 4 Set 10 Reps – 30-sec Rest

3. Bicycle Crunch – 4 Sets 1-Minute Each – 60-sec Rest

4. Lying Hamstring Curl – 4 Sets 10 Reps – 30-sec Rest

5. Shoulder Press – 4 Sets 10 Reps – 60-sec Rest

6. Barbell Hip Thrust – 3 Sets 15-20 Reps – 45-sec Rest

7. Dumbbell Pushup with Row – 3 Sets 8 Reps – 45-sec Rest

8. Dip – 1 Set 12-15 Reps For 4 Mins – 60-sec Rest

9. Incline Dumbbell Row – 1 Set 12-15 Reps For 4 Mins – 60-sec Rest

10. Battle Ropes – 1 Set 40 Sec For 4 Mins – 60-sec Rest

We were as surprised as you are when we found out ladies love to see men perform barbell hip thrust.

We know what you are thinking.

The chick magnet exercise program has 10 exercises – which are 5 more than your typical workout plan. We never said building a physique that ladies dig is an easy task.

You will be performing a monster 29 sets in this routine. Expect your workout to last anywhere between 1.5-2 hours. You will not find any fancy exercises on the chick-magnet workout program. Girls like to see guys perform old-school exercises.

For the last three exercises of the workout, set a timer and perform each exercise for the prescribed repetitions and rest for the remainder of the minute. For example: if it takes you 20 seconds to complete 15 reps of bodyweight dips, rest for 40 seconds before starting the next set of 15 reps at the 2-minute mark. Rinse and repeat until four minutes are up.

Take a 60-second rest before moving onto the incline dumbbell row and then another 60-seconds before moving onto battle ropes.

Chick Magnet Workout #2

1. Deadlift – 4 Sets 10 Reps – 30-sec Rest

2. Incline Dumbbell Press – 4 Sets 10 Reps – 60-sec Rest

3. Bulgarian Split Squat – 3 Sets 10 Reps – 10-sec Rest

4. Dumbbell Curl – 3 Sets 10 Reps – 10-sec Rest

5. Russian Twist – 3 Sets 30 Reps – 10-sec Rest

6. One-Arm Dumbbell Row – 3 Sets 10 Reps – 10-sec Rest

7. Kettlebell Swing – 3 Sets 15 Reps – 60-sec Rest

8. Goblet Squat – 3 Sets 10 Reps – 30-sec Rest

9. Decline Bench Press – 3 Sets 10 Reps – 30-sec Rest

10. Lat Pulldown – 3 Sets 30 Reps – 60-sec Rest

11. Rowing Machine – 10 Sets (400m, 350m, 300m, 250m, 200m, 150m, 100m)X1, (80m)X3 – (90-sec, 75-sec, 60-sec, 60-sec, 45-sec)X1, (30-sec)X3 Rest

Both workouts on the chick magnet program are full-body routines, and you would have trained all your muscle groups by the end of the second workout. The second workout consists of mammoth 42 sets. You will be exhausted and running on fumes by the last exercise.

The last exercise of the second workout is a HIIT cardio exercise and a circuit in itself. After completing a 400m row, rest for 90 seconds and then move onto the 350m row. The rest duration will decrease with the rowing distance.

For the finisher, perform three sets of 80m rows with a 30-sec rest between each set.

Conclusion

Turning into a chick magnet is not as easy as you might have thought.

If a chiseled physique is all it took to find a date in the gym, all the Instagram fitness influencers would be in a relationship by now. #burn

Before we go, here is a bonus tip: stop dressing like a homeless guy to the gym. Brush your hair, wear cologne and always be presentable and chivalrous. It will drastically improve your odds of finding the love of your life in the gym.
