The 2021 IPF World Champion Jessica Buettner has set some massive goals for this season, and judging by her recent training sessions, she is on track to fulfill them. On April 7th, 2022, Jessica shared some impressive lifts from the gym on her Instagram account. She posted a 212.5 kg (468.5 lbs) squat single and performed four 183 kg (405 lbs) paused squats after.

The first video displays Jessica Buettner showcasing her squat prowess, as the 212.5 kg (468.5 lbs) lift is 2.5 kg (5.5 lbs) heavier than her current competition PR. Jessica’s squat is raw, as she only used a lifting belt and knee sleeves.

In the second slide of Jessica Buettner’s Instagram post, she can be seen deadlifting 230 kg (507 lbs) for six sets of one rep. This deadlift is only 17.5 kg (38.5 lbs) lighter than the current IPF World Record in the 76 kg weight class. This record is also claimed by Jessica Buettner, having set it at the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships.

In the final slide of the post, we can see Jessica easily doing four reps of raw 183 kg (405 lbs) paused squats.

Jessica Buettner has not specified her bodyweight at the time of these lifts, but just 7 days before, she weighed in at 80.7 kg (178 lbs). This means that she will most likely aim to slim down to the 76 kg weight class by the time of her next competition.

Jessica aims to step back on the powerlifting platform in 4 weeks from now. That will be the 2022 CPU Canadian Nationals, which will take place from May 9-14, 2022 in St. Johns. Just 4 weeks after that contest, Jessica Buettner will attempt to defend her World Champion title in the 2022 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships.
