Making a permanent impact on the sport of bodybuilding is no easy feat, so when it happens, the community unites in celebration. As revealed by the Arnold Sports Instagram page, bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler is set to receive the 2024 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award on March 2 during the Men’s Open finals.
As a three-time consecutive Arnold Classic champion (2002, 2003, 2004), there is no denying Jay Cutler’s bodybuilding contributions. In addition to his success in Ohio, Cutler became a four-time Mr. Olympia winner, whose claim to fame was dethroning the mighty eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman. Aside from that, Cutler also cemented himself as the only man in history to win back a Mr. Olympia title, which he accomplished in 2009.
Still a prominent ambassador of the sport, Cutler gives back in retirement, mentoring rising talent while offering his points of view on his Cutler Cast podcast. In March, the 50-year-old icon will add to his already cluttered trophy cabinet with a prestigious 2024 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award.

“We’re proud to announce this year’s recipient of the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award is 3x consecutive Arnold Classic champion & 4x Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler!
Join us in person or online Saturday, March 2nd during the Arnold Classic finals for this special ceremony to honor one of the greats.” the Arnold Sports Instagram shared.
In light of the big announcement, a handful of notable Pros gave their thoughts on the news:
Jay Cutler joins his long-time rival and friend, Ronnie Coleman, as the next recipient of the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award. Considering both men held Olympia and Arnold Classic titles, few are more deserving of the honor. Coleman, who struggles to walk without assistance in retirement, admitted receiving the distinction was a gut-wrenching moment.
Aside from Cutler and ‘The King,’ bodybuilding legend Flex Wheeler was also honored with the coveted award. Wheeler has battled through several health dilemmas since stepping away from the stage. He remains devoted to the sport but is forced to navigate life with only one leg following an emergency amputation.
Even in retirement, Jay Cutler’s influence and impact on bodybuilding couldn’t be more evident. Fans look forward to witnessing Cutler accept the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 35th annual Arnold Classic, taking place from February 29 to March 3 in Columbus, Ohio. The live stream will be free to watch courtesy of the official Arnold Sports Website.
