At 24-years-old, Colton Engelbrecht has already earned a spot in the powerlifting hall of fame, courtesy of his most recent appearance. Colton participated in the 2025 WPC-SA Clash of The Titans, which took place on March 29th in Durban, South Africa. There he achieved the single greatest performance, setting the Heaviest Raw W/Wraps Total ever seen in the History of Powerlifting with a result of 1,200 kilograms (2,645.5 pounds).

Colton Engelbrecht’s Full Record-Breaking Performance Overview

Colton Engelbrecht competed in the 125-kilogram (275.5-pound) weight class at the 2025 WPC-SA Clash of The Titans. He ended up tying or beating all of his previous competition PRs, showing that he was stronger than ever. In the end, he achieved a DOTS score of 689, which is significantly higher than any male powerlifter has ever achieved before him.

The DOTS score in powerlifting is a formula used to compare lifters’ performances across different body weights and genders. It takes into account the total weight lifted in the squat, bench press, and deadlift, adjusted for the lifter’s body weight, to provide a fair ranking system.

Breakdown by Lift

Starting off with the squat, Colton Engelbrecht was determined to set a new Competition PR. So, he loaded 470 kilograms (1,036.2 pounds) on the bar, exceeding his previous best by 5 kilograms (11 pounds). Colton wore a lifting belt, knee wraps, and wrist wraps. He made relatively easy work of the lift, never showing even the slightest signs of failure.

Moving on to the bench press, Colton Engelbrecht decided to take on 260 kilograms (573.2 pounds). This marked his personal record from the previous competition, meaning that Colton was able to press the weight. It did look extremely easy for him, showing that he could potentially crush this PR in his next appearance.

Finally, Colton Engelbrecht faced the deadlift. The goal for Colton was very clear — load 470 kilograms (1,036.2 pounds) to achieve a 1,200-kilogram (2,645.5-pound) Total. He achieved his goal with the use of a sumo stance and a mixed grip, blowing the minds of everyone watching. Colton also attempted to deadlift 500 kilograms (1,102.3 pounds) on his final attempt. He got it up above his knees, but his grip gave out.
