The 2025 Mr. Olympia is just 10 days away, and athletes are revealing their predictions. On Sept. 28, 2025, Wesley Vissers gave his top four picks for Classic Physique and Men’s Open Bodybuilding.
Vissers will not compete at the upcoming 2025 Mr. Olympia, but there’s a crop of contenders aiming to make history. Reigning six-time Classic Physique Olympia Chris Bumstead retired from the sport, leaving room for a new titleholder to emerge.
The stakes for Classic Physique are sky-high, with “Cbum” teasing a prize money boost at the Mr. Olympia. Meanwhile, in the Men’s Open, Samson Dauda will attempt to defend his title successfully. However, he faces a stacked roster, including the return of Nick Walker, along with former champs Hadi Choopan, Derek Lunsford, and Brandon Curry.

Open Bodybuilding
- Winner — Samson Dauda
- Second Place — Nick Walker
- Third Place — Hadi Choopan
- Fourth Place — Derek Lunsford
- Eighth Place — Urs Kalecinski (Potential Top-8 Finish)
According to Vissers, Walker adds a new layer of interest to this year’s Olympia, and noted that he defeated Derek Lunsford in Pittsburgh despite the official result.
“Now in the Open category, I think there’s going to be more of an interesting battle than last time. It’s pretty much every champion of the Open, and everyone who is already close together is now competing. Last year, it excluded Nick and let that just be the guy who can make things very interesting. As I predicted, he was going to beat Derek in Pittsburgh, but he didn’t, but I still think he kind of did. A lot of people do as well.”
Classic Physique
- Winner — Mike Sommerfeld
- Second Place — Ramon Queiroz/Terrence Ruffin
- Third Place — Ramon Queiroz/Terrence Ruffin
- Fourth Place — Logan Franklin
- Fifth Place — Jose Manuel Munoz
He believes there are four to five athletes who could win the vacant title, but if he had to bet, he’d back Sommerfeld to come out on top.
“It’s going to be an awesome show. There are pretty much four to five very close contenders but I think with one obvious winner, but we have Ruff Diesel, we have Logan Franklin, we have Mike Sommerfeld, of course, we have Josema, Ramon. We can’t forget about the dinosaur, Ramon Dino. I think that’s going to be the top five,” Wesley Vissers said.
Vissers isn’t the only bodybuilder to unveil his picks ahead of the blockbuster event. Recently, Walker did the same and picked himself to win. He believes Dauda will take runner-up, Hadi Choopan will earn bronze, with Derek Lunsford and Martin Fitzwater taking the fourth and fifth spots onstage.
