The CrossFit Open season is officially over. However, penalties are still rolling in from the 20.3, with many top athletes receiving deductions.

The CrossFit Open 20.3 was a repeat of the 18.4 from two seasons prior. Nevertheless, it was still a very challenging workout. In the end, Annie Thorisdottir and Austin Malleolo would end up winning the workout. Just as a refresher, this was the workout from that week.

This workout from the 20.3 would see many athletes struggle. Following the exercise, 24 athletes in total were penalized for bad form or false starts. Moreover, this list included some of the top CrossFit athletes in the world.

Women:

Sara Sigmundsdottir – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Tia-Clair Toomey – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Jamie Greene – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Brooke Wells – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Alanna Fisk – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Bethany Shadburne – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Alizee Andreani – Minor penalty, failure to meet range-of-motion standards in handstand push-up

Marisa Flowers – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts and hands beginning handstand walks on/over the line

Paige Henry – Minor penalty, hands beginning multiple handstand walks on/over the line

Lefteris Theofanidis – Minor penalty, failure to meet range-of-motion standards in handstand push-up

Men:

Tyler Christophel – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Giorgos Karavis – Minor penalty, lack of extension in deadlifts

Women: Sabrina Caron, Gabriela Migala, Camilla Salmonsson Hellman, Paige Henry

Men: Scott Tetlow, Alexandre Caron, Samuel Cournoyer

 

The 2020 CrossFit Open season was one of the toughest yet, if the 20.3 was any indication. As the submissions continue being reviewed, there are sure to be more penalties announced.
