Taylor Atwood is one impressive specimen which is evident by his two IPF Open World Championship titles (2018 and 2019) and 6 Raw Nationals victories in the 74kg weight class. Plus, he owns the squat (283kg) and total (790.5kg) world record in his category which he achieved at the 2019 IPF World’s.

Well, he recently nailed a 245kg/540.1lb squat triple and you could tell he was happy about his performance as he had a big grin on his face while doing a little dance.

He wrote on Instagram…

245kg/540.1lb x 3. Dooooooooooood….this was hyooooge for the prep. Strength is still not 100%, but this was a great step in the right direction.”

This was a very impressive lift for the 74kg competitor although he explained that his strength is not quite up to par at the moment. But he still has time to prepare and improve before the Sheffield 2020 Powerlifting Championships at the end of March.

Here’s a recent video of him bench pressing 175kg/385.8lb x 3.

And here’s another session where he apparently hit a rehab PR of 257.5kg/567.7lb x 5.

We’re sure there will be more updates on Taylor Atwood heading into the big competition and we’ll also keep you updated on the other competitors as well.
