Serena Abweh is frequently recognized for her incredible transformation, having struggled with anorexia in her early years, but she looks amazing now. In addition, Serena also became an elite powerlifting athlete, which also contributed to her transformation. As a result, she realized powerlifting is her passion, which drives her to keep getting better.

Serena Abweh’s greatest lift is arguably the deadlift, since she is capable of locking out lifts that are over 3x her bodyweight. Well, Abweh has recently reached a new all time high, which saw her crush a 355-pound (161-kilogram) deadlift PR. She only used a lifting belt to complete the lift, so it was also raw.

The 355-pound (161-kilogram) deadlift was 3.4x Serena Abweh’s bodyweight, since she weighed in at 105 pounds (47.6 kilograms) at the time of the PR. In light of this, one can see the expressiveness of the lift, as not many people could secure such a large deadlift. However, Serena is able to do so, and it is partially because of her impeccable technique. She deadlifts with a sumo stance and a mixed grip, which she found out works best for her.

“AH I just got 355lbs for a PR 😭 idk how this happened but I’m so happy 😁”

Serena Abweh has not taken part in a powerlifting competition since October 2021. However, judging by her training footage, she is preparing something incredible for her next powerlifting appearance. As of right now, Serena has not disclosed what the competition will be.

It is surprising that Serena Abweh has not competed for so long, since she has taken part in seven sanctioned competitions during her 4-year-long career. So, she usually competed on an average of two times each year until 2022. Serena has won six out of the seven competitions, as she only failed to stand atop the podium at the 2019 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Serena Abweh’s Competition PRs:

  • Squat: 100 kilograms (220.5 pounds) — (2021 USPA New Mexico State Championships)
  • Bench Press: 62.5 kilograms (137.8 pounds) — (2020 USAPL Collegiate Cup and Texas Open)
  • Deadlift: 152.5 kilograms (336.2 pound) — (2021 USPA New Mexico State Championships)
  • Total: 310 kilograms (683.4 pounds) — (2021 USPA New Mexico State Championships)
