Sherine Marcelle is leaving nothing to chance as she prepares to make history in her next powerlifting appearance. Notorious for her perseverance and squat, Marcelle has yet to officially claim a world record. Sherine’s career has developed steadily in the past 6 months, since she has performed some of the world’s heaviest squats in training. It sparked a chain reaction, making her even more motivated to improve. Consequently, Sherine has now crushed a 568-pound (257.5-kilogram) raw squat two rep PR.

Sherine Marcelle’s new double PR is also heavier than the Raw All-Time World Record in the 90-kilogram weight class. Amanda Lawrence currently holds that record, having squatted 256 kilograms (564.4 pounds) at the 2020 USAPL Gainsgiving Open.

Sherine Marcelle used knee sleeves and a lifting belt, while her depth looked to be by powerlifting standards. In addition, Sherine performed this lift after a flight, which undoubtedly impacted her capabilities. So, it seems like it is just a matter of time when Sherine will break this record.

“I literally hopped off a flight and came straight to the gym . I had no drive to lift , but I remembered who I’m doing this for.”

Sherine Marcelle won’t be entering a powerlifting competition anytime soon, even though everyone would like it to happen. She is actively preparing for her next appearance, but it is currently unknown when that will be.

Sherine Marcelle has always prioritized training instead of competing frequently. So, although she has taken part in only 12 competitions during her 6-year-long career, Sherine has managed to win nine of those.

Sherine Marcelle’s Raw Competition PRs

  • Squat: 245 kilograms (540.1 pounds)
  • Bench Press: 127.5 kilograms (280 pounds)
  • Deadlift: 227.5 kilograms (501.6 pounds)
  • Total: 592.5 kilograms (1,306.2 pounds)

Sherine Marcelle set all of her raw competition PRs at the 2021 USPA New York State Championships. These records will likely not stand for long, as she hasn’t competed in raw since then.

Instead of the raw division, Sherine Marcelle has also proved her prowess in the wraps division. Her squat of 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds) from the 2022 WRPF Ghost Clash is the best example of that, since it is the All-Time Second-Heaviest in the 90-kilogram weight class.
