Sherine Marcelle’s squat prowess makes her one of the best in the world, as she is on the verge of breaking the world record. Despite this, she is a complete powerlifter and is working on improving in every event equally. Sherine has been claiming numerous PRs in the past few weeks, but her newest one tastes the sweetest. On May 24, Sherine shared her amazing accomplishment, which was an all-time raw deadlift PR of 505 pounds (229 kilograms).

Sherine Marcelle’s new PR was completely raw, as she did not even use a lifting belt. Her go-to deadlifting style combines a sumo stance and a mixed grip. Despite it being her new PR, Sherine also decided to attempt another repetition, but it obviously was not possible. Her exact bodyweight at the time of the lift was not specified, but she usually competes in the 90-kilogram weight class.

Quads and body are sore and shot but that’s ok. I won’t make this lengthy, but I’ll be back with more in the tank and although I’m not satisfied, I’m happy to have finally surpassed 500lbs after years of battling out 500-501.”

Sherine Marcelle’s 505-pound (229-kilogram) deadlift is 3.5 pounds (1.5 kilograms) heavier than her current competition PR. In addition, Sherine also demolished her squat PR just one week ago, so she is obviously preparing for an unbelievable performance. Sherine has not yet revealed when she plans to return to the powerlifting platform.

Sherine Marcelle’s Competition PRs:

  • Squat (w/wraps): 280 kg (617.3 lbs) — U90KG All-Time Second-Heaviest — (2022 WRPF Ghost Clash)
  • Bench Press (Raw): 127.5 kg (280 lbs) — (2021 USPA New York State Championships)
  • Deadlift (Raw): 227.5 kg (501.6 lbs) — (2021 USPA New York State Championships)
  • Total (Raw w/wraps): 620 kg (1366.9 lbs) — (2022 WRPF Ghost Clash)

If she continues progressing at this rate, Sherine Marcelle will become a direct rival to Samantha Rice and Kheycie Romero in the 90-kilogram weight class. So many more opportunities are arising for Sherine as she gets better, so she will be able to add more impressive titles to her already incredible resume.

Sherine Marcelle started competing in 2016, and mostly competes at a steady pace of two shows a year. She has taken part in a total of 12 sanctioned competitions by now and won nine of them. Most notably the 2017 RPS Women’s World Championships and the 2021 USPA New York State Championships.

Sherine Marcelle has had one of the greatest breakthroughs in 2022 so far. Sherine is beating all her PRs, and she often does them for reps. All she needs now is to break the World Record. Marcelle is likely to follow up on that, but it is not yet known when.
