The year 2022 marked a change of guard in the IFBB Pro League’s Men’s Open division in many ways. Veterans of the division seem to be losing ground to the younger, hungrier contenders and the results of the 2022 Mr. Olympia stands testimony to this claim. One of the fresh faces that left their mark at the most prestigious bodybuilding Competition is Nigeria’s own Chinedu Andrew Obiekea AKA Andrew Jacked.

The 6ft-2in tall bodybuilder has gained massive popularity in a very short amount of time. This is his complete biography, workout, and diet regimen as well as statistics. He only continues to improve under the IFBB Pro League banner. At the last two Mr. Olympia competitions in 2023 and 2024, Andrew Jacked finished fifth.

Early Life

Although Andrew Jacked has become a popular name in the bodybuilding world within a very short period of time, not a lot is known about his personal life. Born As Chinedu Andrew Obiekea in Nigeria in 1985, Andrew Jacked is a former military officer, kickboxer, crossfit athlete and an electrical engineer. He moved to Dubai because of personal reasons and continues to live and train there until now.

The move has benefited the 37-year-old from a career building perspective as he earned the IFBB Pro card and has now become a serious contender in the Men’s Open division.

Career and Competition

Andrew Jacked rose to fame in the regional circuit when he won the first ever EBBF Ajmaan Bodybuilding and Physique Contest. The event took place in April 2021 in UAE and an estimated 200 bodybuilders participated in the show. It was also Andrew’s bodybuilding debut. The win earned him the IFBB Elite Pro card.

The Nigerian bodybuilder won another IFBB Elite Pro League show just one week later. He then set his eyes on the IFBB Pro League and participated in the 2022 Arnold Classic Amateur. A dominant win at the show earned him the IFBB Pro card.

This was the time when Andrew’s impressive physique became a talk of the town across the global bodybuilding community. Veterans of the sport like Jay Cutler, Samir Bannout, Chris Cormier and Milos Sarcev predicted a bright future for the 37-year-old and he became a hot prospect within a very short period of time. The hype around his name brought Andrew Jacked in the limelight not only for the hard-core bodybuilding fans but also the casual ones. At the time of publishing this article, Andrew has a combined 640 thousand-plus followers on YouTube and Instagram.

Andrew Jacked backed the hype and popularity with performance and stepped on the 2022 Texas Pro stage as a massive favorite. As many expected, he emerged victorious at the show and earned his maiden Mr. Olympia qualification. The 37-year-old wasted no time in celebration and went right back to work as the biggest challenge of his competitive career was waiting for him in December 2022. But before that, Andrew Jacked tested himself one more time as he participated in the 2022 Arnold Classic UK that took place in September 2022. He made it to the stage after a lot of uncertainty due to Visa issues and once again dominated the competition en route to the win.

The Maiden Olympia performance

The hype around Andrew Jacked was at its peak at this point in time and the bodybuilding community was eager to see how he would do against the top crop of the IFBB Pro League at the 2022 Mr. Olympia. Veteran bodybuilders like Jay Cutler predicted that he had a real chance to be placed in the top three at the Competition. It was unprecedented to see someone with so little competitive experience having so many expectations. However, Andrew Jacked carried the burden of expectations really well and showed up in great shape on Dec. 15. He finished eighth in the Men’s Open division, leaving behind the likes of William Bonac as well as fellow debutants Michal Krizo and Blessing Awodibu.

The eighth place finish might not look very impressive at a first glance. However, it is important to look at the extraordinary circumstances under which Andrew Jacked made his Mr. Olympia debut. The 2022 Mr. Olympia line-up was one of the most difficult in recent memory.

From seasoned veterans like Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay, Brandon Curry to younger contenders Hadi Choopan, Nick Walker and Derek Lunsford, some of the most elite bodybuilders graced the stage with similar objectives – winning the Mr. Olympia title. However, Andrew Jacked still managed to finish in the top ten and that says a lot about his competitive ability.

Jacked likes to stay busy and competed at the 2023 Arnold Classic where he took third place behind Nick Walker and Samson Dauda. He followed that up with a Texas Pro victory before attempting the Olympia. He claimed fifth on the Mr. Olympia stage in 2023. To get back to the sport’s most prestigious event, Jacked won the annual Texas Pro in 2024 for a third time. When it was time to test his mettle at the Olympia, Jacked held on to his fifth-place position. In his last outing, Jacked secured third place at the 2025 Arnold Classic.

Training Regime

Andrew Jacked follows an arduous training routine that most of us can only think about and the results are visible in his dominant stage presence. At 6ft-2in, the Nigerian bodybuilder is unusually tall for the division. However, he has weaponized his tall stature with excellent proportions, symmetry and muscle definition. Wide back and a perfect v-taper are probably the most impressive features of his well developed physique. While speaking about Andrew’s back on the Cutler Cast podcast, Jay Cutler compared it to Big Ramy’s and said:

“Look at the width on the lat spread… it’s like Ramy, he has that crazy width in the lats.”

However, if there is one part of his physique that does not get talked about a lot, it is his massive calves. Andrew is not blessed with genetically big calves. At one point in training, he trained the calves everyday for almost three months and developed them into one of the best in the division.

Andrew Jacked follows a training regime that focuses on isolating each and every muscle group for complete all-round development. Over the last one year, he has posted many workout videos, giving a glimpse into his training regime. While he was preparing for the 2022 Mr. Olympia, Andrew Jacked collaborated with bodybuilding veterans like 7-time 212 Olympia champion Flex Lewis and Roelly Winklaar to push his limits and get ready for the most prestigious bodybuilding competition.

Shoulder and Biceps Workout

Andrew also partnered with powerlifter, bodybuilder and arm wrestler Larry Wheels for a shoulder and biceps workout as they both train in Dubai. The duo trained some machines as well as free weight movements to work these muscle groups. Here is the summary of exercises performed during the training session.

Chest and Triceps

Andrew Jacked showcased insane muscularity and size during his 2022 Arnold Classic Amateur appearance. Although he won the show handily to earn the IFBB Pro card, Andrew did not take his first pro show, the 2022 Texas Pro, for granted and made some improvements in his physique. En route to the show, he shared a chest and triceps workout on his YouTube channel. For complete development of his chest, Andrew included both various presses and flyes in his chest workout. The regular and overhead triceps extensions movements ensured that all the heads of triceps got the stimulus and improved significantly for his Pro bodybuilding debut.

Back

A couple of weeks before Andrew Jacked competed at the 2022 Mr. Olympia, he trained under Flex Lewis for a back workout. Flex Lewis planned this workout in such a way that it helped Andrew bring the finer details of the back muscles out.

“To me, right now it’s all about trying to get these little details out. ‘Coz we all know you can train and put f***ing six plates on the machine but to get a good detail out, that’s why you pose, pose and pose. There’s no weight involved in posing, right? You’re just holding the pose and when you’ve done that over weeks, you see all those (details)…” Flex Lewis stated.

Overall, the workout included:

  • Pull-ups
  • Chest Supported Low Rows
  • Superset – Incline Rows Machine and Bent Over Cable Straight Arm Pulldown
  • Kneeling Close Grip Lat Pulldown
  • Seated Rows

Legs

Andrew Jacked also took guidance from Men’s Open division veteran Roelly Winklaar to prepare for the 2022 Mr. Olympia. It was a dream come true for Andrew as he said:

“It’s a dream come true, it’s a pleasure, it’s an honour… It’s a privilege to be trained by Roelly Winklaar, it’s a lifetime thing!”

The duo trained legs together with a high volume workout to add massive pump to the legs. Roelly Winklaar firmly believes that the type of movement and its perfect execution is the key to gain muscle and he applied the same principle to this workout for helping Andrew Jacked get better.

Overall, the workout included:

  • Leg Extensions
  • Machine Squats
  • Leg Press
  • Giant Superset – Partial Leg Press, Heel Elevated Goblet Squats and Walking Lunges
  • Leg Extensions

Diet and Nutrition

Just like his personal life, Andrew Jacked has not been very open about his diet and nutrition, at least until now. However, he did share a glimpse into his diet during an appearance on 8-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman’s podcast on his YouTube channel.

Andrew Jacked explained that he has certain allergies that keep him from eating a lot of food.

“My stomach is so small and sensitive and I have a high level of allergies, especially to food. I barely can eat six square meals. I just eat four meals and one shake”, Andrew Jacked revealed.

Andrew Jacked then shared the meals he eats during the off-season. His day starts with a portion of oats and eggs. The rest of the day is a simple combination of chicken, rice and broccoli. Andrew buys one whole chicken and cuts it up into 200 gram portions for five meals. He then eats it with 100 grams of rice or broccoli. Apart from this, the Nigerian bodybuilder consumes protein shake to meet his daily protein requirement.

Overall, the full day of eating for Andrew Jacked looks like this:

  • Meal 1 – Oats (50 to 70 grams) and 10 eggs ( 6 egg whites and 4 whole eggs)
  • Meals 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 – Chicken (200 grams), rice and/or broccoli (100 grams total)
  • Supplements – Protein shake

Personal Life

Apart from his bodybuilding journey, Andrew Jacked has never spoken about his personal life in public, and very little to no information is available about his personal details. However, he has taken the bodybuilding world by storm in a very short span of time and established himself as a serious contender in the Men’s Open division of the IFBB Pro League.

While he wasn’t able to claim gold at the 2023 Arnold Classic, he continues to make huge improvements to his physique. Having taken fifth place at the last two Olympias he entered, the sky is the limit for Andrew Jacked’s future in the sport.
