Joe Weider’s 58th Mr. Olympia contest is almost here. This year’s 2022 Mr. Olympia competition takes place from December 15 – 18 in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. This article will provide you with a full list of bodybuilders who have earned their respective invites.
The qualification period for bodybuilding’s most important event of the year started on Sept. 13, 2021 and ended on Nov. 20, 2022. Any past Mr. Olympia/Olympia winners are eligible to compete at the event for a lifetime. Aside from those aforementioned, athletes had plenty of opportunities to secure their invitation.
For starters, any bodybuilder from the Men’s Open division who placed in the top five at last year’s Olympia will be automatically invited back for this year’s installment of the show. However, for other bodybuilding categories, only the top three finishers from last year’s Olympia will receive invites for the 58th edition of the contest. In addition, IFBB pros can earn their invites in accordance with the 2022 Mr. Olympia Qualification System (OQS).

2022 Olympia Qualification System Details
The OQS awarded points to bodybuilders who have placed from 2nd to 5th at sanctioned IFBB pro contests. At the end of the qualification period, the top three athletes who accumulated the most points are invited to compete at 2022 Mr. Olympia.

It should be noted that ties are broken based on which athlete had better placings throughout the season (tier levels are also taken into account). If one of the top three athletes in point standings chooses not to compete, the position remains vacated, and no one is moved up.
Note: Any athlete who qualified for 2021 Olympia but was unable to compete due to COVID-related visa restrictions will have five points added to their tallies for 2022 Olympia.
Routes to Qualify
- Top five from 2021 Mr. Olympia
- Top three from all other divisions at 2021 Olympia
